ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

The Renu Handloom Handicraft Society Ltd.(1991-92 regn) survived with only 130 members facing much difficulty in running the society smoothly. The society seeks financial help from the Manipur State Co-Operative Bank thereby sanctioning a sum of Rs 1 Lac 80 thousand in the year 1995-1996.Again, in the year 2005-2006, the society approach National Co-operation Development Corporation(NCDC) for financial support. Thus with full grace from NCDC the society received Rs.19 Lacs 22 thousand in the year 2005-2006.The society acquired a piece of land at Mercy Lane, Mantripukhri, Imphal East and constructed 2(two) worksheds for Handloom & Handicrafts separately. There are 12 living rooms consisting of a computer room, cutting, processing room, kitchen and above all a good show room. The Society gains its sub Centre at Moirang in Bishenpur District and Achan Bigie at ImphalEast.All together the society has 36 embroidery machines and 26 handloom machines. The society aims at the upliftment for socio-economic development of the members at the same time to give special concern for women empowerment.The society gives to 6 months training course comprising of 20 trainers in each session i.e 9 a.m to 11 a.m, 11 a.m to 1 p.m, 1 pm to 3 pm.So far, the society has trained 4015 students. The society conducted various activities such as workshop, seminar, social awareness programs, social service etc. Of all the service rendered to the general public the most important and the best service is taking care of the poor and the needy. So far there are more than 20 orphan girlchild in the work shed. Free training, free accommodation is given to them and they earn theirlivelihood from the society. The society took the initiative of taking care of those helpless childrenby giving full love and affection. So far, the societies arrange four marriage ceremonies for thoseorphans without much difficulty.Thank God that the initiative of taking cares of those helpless children by giving full love andaffection. Thank God, that the society achieved all those activities because of the excess fund earnedduring the past so many years.


SOCIETY TO KEEP COPY OF ACT, RULES AND BYE-LAWS

The Society shall keep a copy of the Cooperative Societies Act and the Rules governing the society andcopy of its bye-laws opened to inspect on free of charges at all reasonable times at the registeredaddress of the society. IT-FUNDS Funds may be raised by- a) Shares b) Raising loans c) Receiving deposits and d) Donations. Members shall pay subscription to the society in at least one of the following ways as may be decided bythe General Body Meeting. a) Deduction out of the ways 0.10 paise per rupee of wage paid to the members. b) Additional levy of ten percent of the value of raw materials supplied to member. c) Deduction of 25 percent of the bonus to which the members are eligible to receive under bye-laws. Deposits and loans may be received for a fixed period at such rates of interest and to such amount asmay be determined by the Managing Committee, provided that total loans and deposits shall not exceedten times the paid up share capital and reserve fund minus accumulated at such equal to the amountborrowed by the society from a financing bank on the pledged of raw materials, finished goods, etc. , shallbe deducted from the actual liabilities of the society.


MEMBERSHIP AND PROFESSIONALISM

No person shall be member unless- a) He/she is a resident in… b) He /She is a professional workmen or is a person who sympathize with the objects of thesociety. c) Sympathizers may be admitted as member in special cases should terminate after lapse of five years unless otherwise determined by General meeting of the society. d) Written application for membership has been majority of the Managing Committee. e) His/her age is more than 18 years f) He/She shall from the day after the date of the applicant have work for one year as a member ofthe society on probation before the managing committee finally decides his application.In case of trainee hand such case will be exempted subject prior approved of Registrar ofCooperative societies. g) The State Govt. and financing bank shall also be eligible for admission as member.If the society employs and workmen who are not member of the society such employees shallbe entitled to apply for membership at the end of one year both the date of this employmentand the period of his employment shall count towards the year probation.


GENERAL BODY MEETING AND ELECTION

The first meeting of the members shall have the same power as are herein given to the General body Meeting. The ultimate authority in all matters relating to the administration of the societyshall be the General body of the members. The General body shall meet from time to time andat least once a year, to conduct the work of the society. The general body shall not however,interferes with the orders of the Managing Committee in respect of matters delegated to itunder the bye –laws. Its duties are :- a) Election and Removal of the Managing Committee. b) To discuss the committee report on the proceeding years working of the society togetherwith statement showing the receipt and expenditure, assets & liabilities, profit & loss for theyear and audit observation. c) Special general meeting of member may be called within the month by the president ormajority of the Managing committee on receipt of a requisition from one-fourth of themember of the society at the instance of Registrar. d) The proceeding of all General meetings shall be recorded in the proceedings book andsigned by the President. e) The Managing Committee shall maintain a list of members on roll of the society who arequalified to vote at general body meeting and shall bring such list up to date within afortnight before each of the general. f) It shall be the duty of every member to attend General body meeting. The quorum themeeting shall be three fifth of the total number of member or 20 whichever is less. In theabsence of a quorum the meeting shall be adjourned to another day not earlier than 7(seven ) days. g) The president shall preside at the general body meeting. The general body meeting shall beconvened by a resolution of the Managing Committee and the secretary shall sign the noticecopy on behalf of the Managing Committee. h) The Managing Committee Shall Consist of 7 members. Five members shall formed thequorum. The committee shall elect the president and the secretary from among themselves. The Managing committee shall have 3 years from the date of assuming charge of the office.The managing committee shall have the full authority to carrying on the business of thesociety. In the event of removal of the president /secretary or acceptance of theirresignation, the Managing Committee shall proceed to elect as provided for in sub-clause. i) Qualification and disqualification of the member of the board. • No persons shall be eligible for election to the Board of Directors of the society,if he/ she is a paid employee of the society or in default to the society or to any other societies, in respects of any loan or loanstaken by him/her. • A member of the Managing Committee or the society shall cease to hold his office as such, he/she incurs any of the disqualification mentioned in above clause.


DISPOSAL OF NET PROFITS

The Society shall, out of its net profits in any year, transfer an amount not being less than twenty fivepercent of the profit to the reserve Fund, or Credit such amount as may be directed by the Registrar, co-operative societies from time to time to the Coop. Education Fund. The balance of the net profits maybe utilized for all or any of the following – • Payment of dividend to members on their paid up share capital at a rate of not exceeding 9%.Constitutions or Contribution to, one or more of the following fund Viz:-i) Dividend 10% ii) Building fund ( not more than 10%,IV) wages equalification fund, and V) any other fund approved by the General body. • Donation of amount not exceeding 71/2 % of the net profits to the coop. Good Fund to be utilized for any purpose mentioned in the section (2) of the charitable Endownment Act. • Any profit not appropriate shall be added to the Reserve Fund. • The entire net profit of the year shall be taken to the Reserve Fund.


SUSTAINABILITY

The Training programme will be continued with asset created out of project fund. The rawmaterials for the training and administrative cost including honorium of Instructor will be madefrom the income from the production unit of the organization. The production unit establishedunder the project will have a parental flow of income which can continue the training programme for a long time after completion of the project period.
